Grammar for this Unit:

Have/Has Got:

We can begin a question with the word (Have/Has" + Subject + "Got" + Object)

For example: "Have you got a car?"      "Yes I have."    (No I haven't)

For example: "Has she got a car?"       "Yes she has."    (No, she hasn't)

Do or Does:

We can begin a question with the word (Do/Does" + Subject + "Have" + Object)

For example: "Do you have a car?"    "Yes I do." (No, I don't)

Present Simple and Present Continuous:

Present Continuous Questions:   ( Is/Are + subject + verb + ing +?)

For example:   "Mariam is using the Internet to learn English." (at this moment, as a sentence)

For example:   "Is Mariam using the Internet to learn English?" (now, as a question)


Look at another example:

Is the bird flying?
Yes, it is. (flying)

Present Simple Question:  ( Does/Do + subject + verb + object + ?)

For example: "Mariam studies at ADWC?." (as a habit)

For example: "Does Mariam study at ADWC?." (as a habit)


Adverbs Of Frequency:  (Always, Usually, Sometimes, Often, Never)

We often use Adverbs of Frequency to show how often something happens as a habit.

For Example:   How often does Huda cook?  She always cooks dinner, but she never cooks lunch because she is always at the college at that time.
